I got my bike back from the dealer yesterday with the new heads fitted. They gave me a look at the old ones that came off. The horizontal head had an area about 10mm dia on the upper side of the exhaust port which was clean metal with no carbon and with a tiny pinhole showing in the centre. This was where the leak from the water jacket to the exhaust port had been happening.

had mine a year ago at 20k miles, now past the warranty period but temps still fine since. haven't heard of problem re-occurring to anyone that had heads done for 2010/11 models since
